Random Residency is an ongoing research project exploring the question of “What is long-lasting design?” through the finding of vintage everyday objects. Found across Japan and Europe, each piece is chosen for its clear function, timeless aesthetic or interesting manufacturing process. The project has evolved in a way of passing these objects on and prolonging their lifespan. The logo has been designed to capture the essence of physical objects. The plinth system is designed to display and photograph objects of various sizes, shapes, aesthetics and ages. The nine wooden beams are fastened together to offer modularity of layouts. It can easily be disassembled and upgraded over time.
